ANNOUNCEMENT

We are pleased to inform you that Clayton School District will be implementing the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) while participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs for School Year 2025-26.

What does this mean for you and your children attending the school identified below?

Great news! All enrolled students of Clayton Elementary School and Clayton Middle School (Grades EC-8), are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2025-26 school year. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.* Please note that only the regular meal and one milk is provided for free. If students wish to have an extra entree or extra milk, they will need to have money in their meal account BEFORE taking extra items. Payment can be made at either office.

Please encourage your students to eat a school breakfast and lunch every day. Our funding is based on number of meals served and will help us to offer this program in future years.

*The district will still be requesting applications from households with a student participating in the CEP; however, receipt of free breakfast and lunch meals does not depend on returning it. Completing the application is still necessary for other programs like Title and SAGE and may be used to determine if your household is eligible for these additional benefits.

Breakfast menu will offer a daily breakfast entree or alternative, juice and fruit, & milk

Lunch

Lunch Menu will offer one or more Daily Hot Entree choices

Alternate Lunch Entrees: Yogurt Cup with String Cheese and Bread & Butter OR Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich with String Cheese

Offered with all Meals

Fruit Cup, & Fresh Fruit ~ varies by season, Fresh Vegetables, Garden Salad Mix with choice of dressing and a Fresh Vegetable Bar featuring a wide variety of fresh vegetables

Choice of Milk

Water Available

**Students will be required to have at least 1/2 C. serving of either a fruit

or vegetable or combination of both - per his/her choice on the tray.
