🎶 🎵 🎼 In honor of our 1st concert of the 2024-25 school year this past Tuesday, we are 'throwing it' WAY back to Clayton's 1st orchestra from 1921! 🎶 🎵 🎼

🚀 🧑🔬 Thursday, October 24th proved to be an exciting day for five second graders at CESA #11 in Turtle Lake. The school was invited to bring five students to the event, which was a fun-packed day full of education and creativity.
The Science Museum of Minnesota sent a representative to share what engineering is and engaged the students in the process of engineering. The process of engineering is a cycle of events that begins with ASK/ IMAGINE, PLAN, INVESTIGATE, IMPROVE, then begins again with ASKING what needs to be done to modify or re-design. Students were shown that many things in our lives were engineered, not just technology as some people think. For example, scissors were engineered because of a need.
Students were given materials and an open-ended task of building a rocket using the materials set before them. Then, students went outside to launch the rockets using three different degrees of launch pads. A re-designing station was set up for the students who chose to redesign. 🚀🧑🔬
Several stations were set out for students to work at that contained different challenges. The students had a fantastic time and represented Clayton well! 💜 💛

🎶 Feelings, whoa, oh, oh, feelings! 🎶
🎃 🎃 The Elementary Staff are wearing their emotions for all to see for the annual Halloween picture (from the movie Inside Out)! 🎃 🎃

🔦 🎃 🔦 Ms. Pickard's 1st graders enjoyed reading in the dark with their new Halloween flashlights! 🔦 🎃 🔦

🎃 🎃 Not to be outdone by the elementary staff, we have these staff members who joined in the fun! Paraprofessionals Camdyn & Kenzie as Bingo & Bluey, the (Amazing) food service staff as "The Spice Girls" 🌶 🧄 🫚and Mr. Eichman as a venison hot dog 🦌🌭!

🎃 🎃 A couple of weeks ago, Ms. Meyer's Intro to Art Class and the JK classes teamed up to draw and color some pumpkin designs. This past week, the Art class returned with the 3D representations of some of those designs! How cool is this? 🎃 🎃

👏 👏 On Saturday, October 26th, the Prairie Farm/Clayton Junior High football team wrapped up their season with a small banquet at the Prairie Farm School. Following the banquet, the coaches and players traveled to UW-Stout to watch the Blue Devils take on the Blugolds of UW-Eau Claire. The Blue Devils won the game 42-24 in front of a nice crowd for their Homecoming. It was a great way to wrap up the first season of PFC football!💜💚
