📈📊📉 On February 18th, 21 Clayton Juniors and Seniors attended the Mini-Business World event held at Northwood Technical College in Rice Lake.
As part of this event, the students were split up and then placed with students from other schools to create different "companies". Each company had to create a product that would help solve a real-world issue. Through this process, they had to come up with a Business Plan, consisting of items such as financial costs and marketing aspects for their product. They were also tasked with trying to create a mock "prototype" of their product out of various materials that were available to them.
At the end of the event, each group also had the opportunity to present its product in front of the group. There were some tremendous ideas that were presented by all companies during this event, and many of our students reported that the event was a really good time! 👏 👏

Leaping into learning! 🤸♂️📏 Our third graders put on their mathematician hats to measure how far they could jump! They didn’t just stop at the landing—they took their data to the next level by: 📝 Recording results in tally charts and frequency tables. 🔢 Converting measurements to the nearest foot. 📈 Graphing their progress on a line plot. Who knew math could be this active?

😎 🏫 😎 #TBT brings back Memories of Yesterday!

🏇🐂 On Friday, February 13th, Clayton FFA students had the chance to attend the World's Toughest Rodeo at the Grand Casino Arena. It was a very tough rodeo, with only one bull rider making his full 8 seconds. The kids had a great time! Special thanks to Arlaina Meyer and the Cumberland FFA for their help in getting us there and back safely!

💰 📈It's tax season in the classroom as well, as the students in Mr. LaBlanc's Workplace Applications class were able to get some firsthand experience with tax returns. They were tasked with completing a few different IRS 1040 Forms, using various examples. There was a lot of discussion among the students to make sure they were completing them correctly, but in the end, they were all successful in their efforts!

🖤🤍🖤101 Dalmatians for the 101st day of school in Kindergarten!! Too cute!

🪵♥️🔨The sawdust was flying and spirits were high in Tech Ed last week! Our creative Fifth Graders proved they have "all heart" as they wrapped up a special woodworking project.
From Scraps to Keepsakes - Students took a deep dive into the world of craftsmanship, transforming donated 2x4 scraps into beautiful, geometric hearts. The process involved:
Design & Planning: Sketching and decorating their visions.
Observation: Watching live demonstrations of table saw cross-cuts and miter saw precision to see how raw lumber becomes workable strips.
Assembly: Carefully painting and wood-gluing their pine strips to create a finished gift for those they hold "near and dear."
The "Aroma" of Success - For many students, this was their first introduction to the sights and smells of a functional woodshop. Beyond the technical skills, the project highlighted the importance of sustainability by upcycling donated materials into meaningful art.
Instructor Ryan Eichman is quoted saying: "The smell of fresh sawdust and the focus in the room was incredible. These students aren't just building hearts; they’re building confidence." 👏👏
