On November 6th, Saxophone Day celebrates the birth of Adolphe Sax, the saxophone inventor, born in 1814 in Belgium. Mr. Sax received a 15-year patent in 1846 for 14 different designs of the saxophone, which have become an essential woodwind in various music genres, from classical to jazz.
