🍎 🥦 School Menu for the week of September 2nd 🥞 🍔

🌽🍎 We’re excited to share that our Farm to School project is in full swing, bringing fresh, local produce straight from nearby farms to our students’ plates.
--Fresh Local Apples: This week, our delivery from Nature’s Select Apple Orchard has arrived! Over the next several weeks, we’ll be featuring different varieties of apples for students to enjoy. This week’s selection is the Zestar—a crisp, tart, and delicious apple that’s perfect for snacking.
--Sweet Corn on the Cob: For the first time, we have the opportunity to serve local sweet corn! Next week, a local farm will deliver fresh-picked corn on the cob for all of our students to enjoy. It will be served on Wednesday, which is pizza day!
We are so grateful to be building these connections with our local farm community. Not only does this support area growers, but it also gives our students the chance to experience the taste of truly fresh, seasonal produce. Thank you for helping us make this project a success and for sharing in the excitement of bringing “farm to school” to Clayton!

🗓️ Due to a scheduling conflict, the October Parent-Teacher Conferences have been moved to September 30th. This will now be an early release day, with conferences starting at 1 p.m. Please save the revised calendar for your records. 🗓️

❗Village of Clayton Notice: Emergency Alert System Test ❗

The Clayton School District will be conducting a test of its emergency alert systems on Tuesday, August 26th at approximately 8:30 AM.
The alert system includes both indoor and outdoor broadcasts, and one of the test announcements will simulate a situation involving an armed intruder.
Please be assured—this is only a test.
There is no actual emergency. This drill is part of our commitment to safety and preparedness.
