🌲🎁🧑🎄 School Menu for the week of December 22nd! Happy Holidays!

❄️ 🏂 Enjoy your Winter Break! ❄️ 🏂

🇪🇸🎄🇪🇸 Feliz Navidad! On Wednesday, the third graders were visited by our Spanish friends, Eriz Sanchez Tellechea (11) and Raul Raseron Sanchez (12), to learn about Christmas traditions in Spain. We learned about Papa Noel (Santa) and the tradition of eating 12 grapes during the last 12 seconds of the year in order to bring good luck.

💚 Day 2 of Christmas Dress-up Days was Grinch (wear green) Day! 💚

💜💛 Many thanks to Mr. Keith Aronson, who recently donated a 1924 Vive Vale, and this week, donated a (mint condition) 1921 Vive Vale! The 1921 Vive Vale is Clayton's 1st yearbook. To say that Mrs. Polta was 'over the moon' to add this to the library's collection, is an understatement! Thank you again, Mr. Aronson! 👏 👏

💜 💛 Day 1 of Christmas Dress Up week was Flannel/Plaid Day, and our school was wrapped in warmth and coziness! Students and staff showed up in their comfiest flannel, filling the halls with festive cheer and winter vibes.❄️
What will tomorrow's post bring?🤷 You'll be 💚 with envy!😉

💜 👏 Many thanks to Don Hansen (MC extraordinaire), Tammy Tucotte, and Denise Johnson for sharing their talents yesterday for our elementary students! Tammy's dedication to the flute, spanning 50 years, is truly inspiring, especially considering she began her musical journey right here in Clayton! Denise's harp performance adds an enchanting touch, even if she kept her playing history a mystery. Such events not only bring joy but also inspire young minds to explore the world of music! 💜 👏

🎈 🎈 As part of our Social Emotional Learning characteristic traits for December, the high school students were RESPONSIBLE for achieving the goal of "carrying" six balloons from one end of the gym to the other without using their hands and not allowing any of the balloons drop to the ground. If a balloon dropped or their 'train' broke, students had to go back to the beginning.
Once the team reached the other end of the gym, they needed to pass the balloon from the back of the group to the front and drop all balloons in a box. Again NO balloons could be dropped before reaching the box. Students were allowed to use their hands to pass the balloon forward.
It was interesting to see which students stepped up into the LEADERSHIP role to create a plan for their team in trying to achieve this objective.
Hopefully, the students enjoyed the activity and were able to make the connection of the monthly character traits of December: LEADERSHIP and RESPONSIBILITY.
